Editorial policy
Open Community Press aims to publish clear, careful work about community life. We value accuracy, context and fair treatment of the people and ideas discussed.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against appropriate sources and make the basis of a claim clear when it matters to the reader. We distinguish reported information from opinion and interpretation, avoid overstating what an example can show, and revise wording when a claim is too broad or unclear.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure favourable treatment for a partner or contributor. If we find a material error, we correct it and clarify the change in the relevant piece. Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page; please identify the piece and explain the issue.
Partners and paid material
Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee editorial coverage, and editorial content is not offered as an undisclosed benefit.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. When an image is illustrative rather than a documentary depiction, we use it in a way that does not mislead readers about real people or events.
