Write for us
Open Community Press welcomes pitches that help readers understand how people create belonging, take part in groups and make shared projects work. We are interested in specific ideas, clearly explained, rather than general claims about what every community needs.
What to pitch
We consider original explainers, comparisons, thoughtful accounts of group practices and practical pieces about gathering, participation, shared spaces or collaborative projects. A strong pitch identifies its central question, the reader it serves and the distinct point it will make. Keep the proposed scope focused enough to deliver in one piece.
A useful proposal
Send a short summary of the idea, its main points and why it suits Open Community Press. Note any sources or experience that would inform the piece, and disclose relevant interests. Do not include confidential personal information or present a single experience as proof of a universal rule.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication. Please do not send a completed article unless it has been requested.
